DELIVERING AND COLLECTING CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL:
- Children and parents may arrive in the school playground from 8.45 a.m.
- Everyone should dismount bikes and scooters at the gates and push them to the stands
- In FS and KS1 parents and carers hand their children over to the teachers at their classroom doors at 8.50 a.m. (for 8.55 a.m. registration)
- Children in KS2 may wait in the playground unaccompanied until their teacher opens the classroom door
- If parents wish to speak to their child’s teacher, they are welcome to fix an appointment at a mutually convenient time
- The head teacher is available at the school gate on most mornings
- At the end of the afternoon teachers in FS and KS1 hand children over to their parents and carers in the playground
- In KS2 all parents and carers complete a slip indicating their home-time arrangements (please see example attached)
- Parents and carers should inform the school of any changes to these arrangements
LATE CHILDREN
- If children arrive at school after 8.55 a.m. they should come in through the front door and report to the school administrator. They will be marked late in the register and their time of arrival will be noted
- If parents or carers arrive after 3.20 p.m. to collect they should report to reception where their children will be waiting
- Parents are responsible for ringing the school office (01993 891687) if children are going to arrive late, or if parents are running late for collection
- Parents should inform their children of the ‘late’ procedures
LOST CHILDREN
- In the event of any child going missing, staff will search the school site
- The school administrator will telephone the parent or carer to find out if there has been a change of arrangements
- Staff will search the immediate neighbourhood
- The school administrator will telephone the police
ILL CHILDREN
- Please inform the school before 9.30 a.m., giving the reason, on the first morning of absence, by telephone or letter. A verbal message from a sibling in not sufficient.
- If no message is received, the school will attempt to contact the parents or carers.
- If a child’s attendance falls below 80% the educational social worker will become involved as a matter of course
